Zillow's latest report for June 2025 has some key insights, and it really highlights the journey many of you are on.
The big takeaway? Affordability is still the name of the game. Home prices saw a slight bump, but things are settling down a bit compared to the super-fast growth we've seen. That means while homes are still expensive, they're not quite as out-of-reach as they were in some past months. The challenge for many, especially first-time buyers, is that mortgage rates are still pretty high. It’s a bit like juggling higher prices with higher borrowing costs.

Good news on the inventory front! There are a few more homes available now, which gives you a bit more choice than before. It's not a flood of new listings, but every little bit helps in finding your perfect place. On the flip side, if you're renting, you might still be feeling the pinch, as rents are continuing to climb. This can make saving for that down payment even trickier.

So, what does this mean for your pathway to homeownership? It means the market is strong, but you need a clear plan to navigate the affordability hurdles. Understanding these trends is key to making your dream home a reality.
